Ecuador Los Tolas


To be honest we love natural processed coffees at Kai. That said, we were looking for an amazing washed coffee to balance out our offering list and to showcase something special from a unique origin... Then we found Los Tolas in Ecuador. It is an incredibly well rounded, sweet and complex coffee. You can drink it as a straight espresso and walk away with this dark chocolate experience with a slight lemon acidity. Add some milk and and the flavour just keeps going deeper revealing berry undertones with hints of caramel. Enjoy this one because there are only a few hundred kilos in the country (we bought them all) and its going fast!

Importer Farm Information: 

Finca Las Tolas is a 103-hectare estate of which 75 hectares is planted in coffee. Located in Ecuador's Pichincha region, this estate is planted in multiple varieties including Java, Pacas, Caturra, Pacamara, and Bourbon, Coffee here is harvested with fully ripe and de-pulped on the same day, fermented dry for an average period of 36 hours, washed, and placed on raised beds to try for an average of 28 days.
